After 7 long, agonizing months waiting, I got my PJD Woodford Elite today! It’s a custom design, which Leigh at PJD was very gracious to allow me to choose

Stats:

  • Color: Highland Purple, quilted
  • Fretboard: Roasted birdseye maple
  • Pickups: Cream T P90s

It sounds so amazing, i legit teared up when i first plugged it in - think Strat but on steroids. I immediately gravitated towards Andy Timmons, so I had to try a bit of Electric Gypsy, through my Quad Cortex Mesa Lonestar preset, and it nailed it.

So happy today!!

I settled on a Revstar for that. It needed a bit of setup and is a slightly funny but mostly sensible shape, and I’ve been happy with it.

Saved a bundle compared to the DC LPs I was dreaming of. Neck is a more sensible construction as well, though the volute is a slightly annoying overkill.

I’ve been eyeballing some DAngelico models - ever since getting a korean Gretsch G5422T I love hollow/semi-hollow stuff.
Which Revstar did you get? I see the price range is all over the place.

My design inspiration was the Ernie Ball Jason Richardson, which I always loved the purple.gold combo. Since I already have a JP15, i thought I’d get the color i liked in a strat like package.

I know nothing about guitars, and couldn’t play one to save my life, but I do know that is absolutely beautiful!

Had the pleasure of sampling a PJD at Andertons on the weekend. You’ve made a very, very good choice.

It’s so great, and I’m sure it has a super versitile ability. So far, it has handled Andy Timmons and John Mayer blues’ styles like a champ.

Very nice guitar. Looks wonderful. I’d never heard of PJD guitars until I took at trip to Andertons last weekend. They were some of the best I tried out there. I’d definitely consider them when I’m on the lookout for a new axe.
