Wrong character! Karlsson på taket is on the roof, Nils Karlsson Pyssling becomes really small!

I know, I just just figured if you knew one you’d know the other and appreciate the reference and maybe even the attempt at humor of pretending not to be able to tell them apart 😁

Guess I was half right 🤷😁

I was just assuming no one would get it, which made me assume you didn’t get it either! Lol

The perils of being from Scandinavia? 😁

I’m assuming you are because Astrid Lindgren’s less known works aren’t really known outside of Sweden and my country Denmark, probably Norway too 😁

So why, ya see - why when we visited china, did they sing “Take me home, country roads” on the little boat down the Yangtze river? Our tour guide started singing and everyone joined in, and we’re going down this little river into the deep jungle on both sides and I’m not even sure they knew what the words meant.

Why that particular song? I have no idea. It was kind of surreal. And there were no toads involved but I did see some weird looking insects.

That song has it’s own life. It’s an offline meme at this point.

It began in Germany I believe, but it’s a worldwide phenomena.

The explanation is that it’s sa song that lends itself very well to yelling out loud, and it’s played a lot at football games and in pubs. It’s a great song and all, and while it may be specific state patriotic song in he USA, it has become a common drinking song in most of world.

      It’s the OG jock rock.
