    And that’s why I don’t separate art from artist. There are so many good bands out there, why listen to cunts?

    I listen to Burzum and separate the art from the artist. I think it is fine as long as:

    • you recognize that the actions of the band were/are wrong.
    • you aren’t gonna become a church burner (you know you won’t be influenced by the band).
    • you don’t support the band e.g. don’t buy merch, go to shows etc.
    • you appreciate the band/music from a purely artistic standpoint.

      In his case, Burzum is totally unassociated from his political views, so it’s not difficult for me. Generally that goes for any band in my opinion; it’s when the music itself is NSBM or whatever that it becomes an issue.

        Yep, totally agree. If the negative actions are associated with the music it is a total no-go.
