I always hear a “tick” sound around the gas outlet. Is it normal?

Next to the gas outlet, theres a switch board, at first I thought its coming from the switch board but I dont think so. I still couldn’t figure out where the sound coming from but I am sure its around that area.

        Gas heaters.

They are one of the most cost effective ways to heat a home… bugger all use in summer and with reverse cycle AC being a lot cheaper these days they dont see much use but last time I checked, still very cost effective to run.

The price of gas (and electricity) is skyrocketing.

If you have solar, a properly installed Reverse cycle is much more efficient and much more cost effective.

Make sure you get the biggest capacity Reverse Cycle A/C you can afford and make sure the Heat Exchanger is installed on the south side of the house.

A 30W reverse cycle would need to run constantly, compared to a 70W which would only need to run 1/3-1/2 the time.

The heat exchanger won’t work efficiently if it is out in the sun.

Yeah it does definitely depend on the rates you get charged for gas and electric and if you have solar. It was a few years ago when I did the math and gas was cheaper but not by enough for me to go to the expense of having a gas line extended into the house and buy the heater and so on.
