Behind the scenes: During the call with Biden on Monday, Netanyahu complained about Schumer’s speech and Biden’s endorsement of it. He also claimed the public political attacks against him in the U.S. are interference in Israeli politics, the sources said.

The sources said Biden pushed back and told Netanyahu he is not trying to undermine him and has no intention to intervene in Israeli domestic politics.

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said in a briefing with reporters on Monday that Netanyahu “did raise his concerns about a variety of things that have come out in the American press.”

Sullivan added that from Biden’s perspective “this is not a question of politics. It’s not a question of public statements. It’s a question of policy and strategy.”

One source said the fact that Netanyahu aired his grievances with Biden helped to somewhat clear the atmosphere.

“What is, the clue for ‘Things we already knew for 100’, Alec?”

Biden’s actions, not words, speak loudest to full throated support.

When will American politicians do the right thing because it’s the right thing and not because it’s going to cost them an election?

(Answer: after they’ve tried everything else.)

Because lemmy doesn’t like the idea that Biden should stop supporting Netanyahu’s genocide.

I think it’s because single issue voters are dangerous and helping Trump win only means even more suffering

Like so. I say Biden should stop supporting genocide, you immediately assume I’m advocating for voting against him.

I was just answering the question why stuff gets down voted. I assume you are a single issue voter who votes with their heart instead of their brains and because of that are dangerous. Your rhetoric is helping Trump win and this next election when Trump wins we will all be in the fuck around find out faze of our life

Why bother listening? You’ve already decided that anyone who thinks Biden should stop supporting genocide isn’t voting for him.

Why promote what will cost us the country? It’s fine to criticize biden but when we are dealing with the death of democracy you shouldn’t push a narrative that helps trump

Honestly, I think Lemmy is just not thinking straight on Israel and Palestine. There are just some truly wild ideas that seem to get traction around here.

(Like seriously, Israel has no justification to attack a hospital even if Hamas stages nuclear weapons there??!?)

I guess if you want to try to justify genocide, pretending that Hamas is a nuclear power is one way to do it.
