Aren’t they supposed to be even more emotional than humans by nature, with the logic thing being a result of having a cultural emphasis on repressed emotions and rational thinking? It doesn’t seem too absurd for people in those circumstances to use any outlet for emotional expression they can that doesn’t come with loss of social status.

Yes, that’s exactly right. Their aggressive base natures resulted in both a nuclear holocaust on Vulcan and Romulans going into (probably self-) exile. At some point in there, Surak came along and brought Vulcan into a golden age with the embrace of logic and the purging of emotion.

The Vulcans should listen to their friend Lloyd Braun.

          Serenity? That’s a different sci-fi series.

Yeah because he’s going to dump all his negative emotions into you instead and turn you into a crazy old person.

Dang, his Seinfeld and TNG characters meld together well. Someone make a meme for us in [email protected].

Edit: no I got the wrong telepathic negotiator who ties up with Troi. Never mind!

        (probably self-)

Honestly, with how racist Vulcans are constantly, and all the corruption in the High Command we see in Enterprise, I think it’s much more likely the Romulans were forced off of “Vulcan”

It’s entirely possible. We don’t even know when they left though. Did they leave because they rejected Surak and either were forced off or voluntarily left because fuck that noise? Did they leave before that but after the nuclear war or wars? Did they leave even before that?

And if they did leave because they rejected Surak, was it immediate or was it an anti-Surak movement that grew over time?

We just don’t have enough information. Especially not considering it was so long ago that Vulcans forgot that the whole event even happened.

Poster boy for petty dramatic Vulcan with an over the top outfit:

His outburst at the end of Take Me Out to the Holosuites shows how illogical and emotional he is so maybe he isn’t the whole meme.

Their planet is extremely hot. It makes sense that they like a garment with a bit of airflow.

You know nothing of breathable space-fabric and hairdos!

        Also, the 60s were weird.

People are going to think the 2020s were weird in half a century when they watch Discovery, SNW, Lower Decks, etc.

                Screaming, crying, and whisper-screaming.
