Have to admit, Extinction Rebellion is a pretty good name for an activist group.

ITT: bots, trolls, and plain old fools angrier with this woman for demanding that we stop climate change than with the mega corps trying to cause long-term devastation for short-term gain.

She is one of the most influential activists in a generation. I greatly admire her dedication and commitment. She’s been arrested like half a dozen times now, and she shows no sign whatsoever of backing down.

Clear evidence! It’s all her fault, she actually secretly takes planes everywhere. They don’t appear on public records because they’re stealth jets; she actually works for Biden in spreading the woke agenda!!!

      Bro forgot the /s.

People not watching this is understandable, they probably don’t want to drive any traffic to a video with an obviously bogus claim.

The downvotes on this comment clearly are refusing to watch the evidence backed video you’ve linked.

I’m not one of the downvoters, but when someone says “Listen to the science” and links a Youtube video as source, 99 times out of 100 it’s not worth clicking.

You can also refuse to give traffic to crazy people’s linked videos before knowing what they are.

I think people are just nervous they’ll click and get some crazy climate denying stuff or something especially with all the hate she gets. The YouTube recommendations go nuts if you watch even a single video on something. Risky click. Excellent science based video you posted there though. A /s would’ve saved on the down votes if you care.

I actually thought about it. But I think Onion articles and videos generally work best without a /s.

For the people downvoting before clicking on the link: Youtube doesn’t count views if you don’t hit play.

Careful you might trigger the snowflake‡ and they’ll whine and argue in the comments for days to come about how they should be able to stomp on the rights of people they disagree with while simultaneously sucking off the nearest billionaire.

‡ I’ve recently started finding it insanely fun calling conservative folk “snowflakes” as it pisses them off to such an incredible degree

Unfortunately, I’m not sure if conservatives have the mental capacity to understand you’re referring to them when you call them snowflakes.

Are you suggesting that in democratic countries that citizens should not have the right to free assembly? Or that active criticism of government or corporate powers should be banned?

Not only would this be a dangerous precedent that belies fascist ways of thinking, it also would then take away any legal right you likely believe the Jan. 6 insurrectionists had to free assembly. Of course in that case they were actively breaking the law by entering restricted areas, brandishing weapons, committing acts of violence… Unlike these dangerous climate protestors who were blocking a public street (clutches pearls).

It’s absolutely bonkers. I met a 16 year old guy who is pretty sharp and politically active, he told me he wanted to run when he is of age to, he tried to play rope a dope with me about how the Jan 6 insurrection was a “protest” and how Trump had no culpability in fomenting the insurrection. I told him, in no uncertain terms, if you can’t admit to the greatest modern threat to democracy then you should never run for political office.

All they’re suggesting is that someone has told them that she is a threat to their world view for some reason and she needs to be imprisoned so they don’t have to face their fragility or the consequences of their choices on the regular. This hurts the conservative.

No? That way of thinking of incredibly stupid, context is what decides if an action is justified or not. Violence is especially easy to justify, as far as unsavoury actions go.
