Reminder: The #fascist #GOP has lost 16 of of the last 19 special elections, even in so called red-states, since Roe v. Wade was overturned.

Nationwide, Democrats are beating the polls by +9 points at the voting booth.

If we get out & vote, we’ll get to see a formerly orange, ex-billionaire conman die in Federal custody.

I’ve thought this for a while now. They don’t actually care about abortion. They’re doing this to drive people out of the state long term who vote against their party so they can further cement control of the state and eventually federal government.

The point isn’t to attack abortion or reproductive healthcare, it’s to make women secondary citizens again.

It probably will. The last election cycle probably would have swung completely left if they hadnt tried to delay counting for so long. Not to mention all the voter fraud. Abortion stance will be the deciding factor this election.

Well that’s not going to work. Anyone with eyes in Arizona knows the Democrats are winning.

It’s still a losing battle. Even when all the centrists move out, the center-right that remain is STILL going to be moving slightly leftward. Abortion will be back nationwide, but it’s a question of how long and how many people have to grow old and die before it can be a thing.

Arizona already utilizes this often to bypass state Republicans refusing to do their jobs correctly.

So much so that they keep having their lawsuits to invalidate the measures that pass thrown out by the same Supreme Court making this decision.

It would be funny if it wasn’t such a complete waste of time, taxpayer money, and manpower.

There actually was an effort to get a ballot initiative on the 2022 state election, but due to narrow timing between the Supreme Court overturning RvW and the pre-established deadline, it didn’t make it. I would be surprised if a similar initiative isn’t on the 2024 ballot, and it would almost certainly pass.

Wild wild west. There is a ballot initiative that has enough signatures. Hopefully will help carry Arizona.

Lol, that’s not Arizona. This is literally the only way the GOP could get abortion banned in Arizona. It’s a lot more blue that anyone ever gives it credit for, even after voting for Biden, and electing Democrats to state wide offices for the last 6 years.

As someone who has lived there, the younger generations are starting to outnumber the boomers. Millenials and younger have always been majority leftist, its just that we have always had a large retiree community we had to battle against in the polls.

Yup, hopefully electing democrats to statewide offices stops the GOP retirement caucus from moving in.

I genuinely cant tell if this is an abortion joke or you actually moved them out of the state

The law makes abortion a felony punishable by two to five years in prison for anyone who performs or helps a woman obtain one. It includes an extremely narrow exception for “when it is necessary” to save a pregnant person’s life.

I mean, be fair, this is why people move to Arizona. They don’t go there for the freedom, they go there for the hate.

Well, no. I moved back here because I grew up here and genuinely love the environment here. The plants and wildlife here are unique and the people are generally accepting (minus the small town shithole communities barely anyone is moving to). Overall, Arizona is a cool place to live if you can tolerate the heat, but even then we have normal places like Flagstaff and Sedona. This is a state that is leaning more and more blue every year and we are putting abortion on the ballot this year.

Stop telling people about Flagstaff. Let them all go to Sedona, and if they wander up the hill then they can have a beer before they go back. ;)
