"In a statement, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said the Royal Air Force (RAF) will repel “any airborne attacks within range” of operations in the region.

It is understood RAF jets have flown over Iraq and Syria, not Israel.

PM Rishi Sunak condemned Iran’s “reckless attack”, pledging the UK would “continue to stand up for Israel’s security”. "

Iran surely got a lot of nuclear know how from Russia in return for drones. I wouldn’t want to bet that they don’t have nuclear weapons at this point.

It’s a problem when your enemies are too small to properly fit a nuclear blast inside of their frontiers.

Well, a lot of people waving Ukrainian flags for the last 2 years are about to learn about the global pecking order.

The fuck do my people have to do?

Have allies before you get invaded, or have nukes.

Is the UK just cucked by America who are in turn cucked by Israel?

I’m not sure I’m in just older now. Take me back to 2009. The we should have moved closer to Europe. The EU had problems, and still has huge problems. Only if we could have a do over.

The UK sells Israel weapons. The US sells Israel weapons. Unlike other countries, Israel pays more reliably. A good salesman looks after their best customers.

Also, it seems that since Israel suffered no significant damage from the attack, they’re not going to retaliate now. So the support worked, because otherwise there probably would have been more than minimal damge to Israel, they would have responded and we’d have open war between Israel and Iran.

Ah, the UK’s under funded, under equipped, understaffed Defence forces, seem to had coddled together a response……in less than 12 hours .

Yeah, not sure we want to send the message that bombing embassies is okay.

Aren’t we supposed to help defend our allies, and vice versa?

Maybe take a step back if your ally is basically Nazi Germany.

Are you saying Israel has ambition to invade and conquer the entire region?

Kinda seems like that when they are bombing every country in the region and committing a genocide at home…

I suppose the justification is that they are trying to stop this escalating, which could kick off World War 3 (which is A Good Thing) but it doesn’t sit well with Ukraine not getting similar help (presumably also justified by saying they are trying to avoid World War 3). Damned if we do, damned if we don’t.

But this won’t be framed as an “escalation”. It’s only an escalation when Iran does something.
