Appreciate it. It’s regular pink nail polish plus black cracking nail polish on top that breaks apart immediately to create this effect. Was quite trendy a decade or two ago and seems to be experiencing a bit of a revival nowadays

Happy 420 ! let me take this opportunity to give a general advice : dry vaping is much, much, MUCH better for your lungs than smoking. I’ve dropped smoking entirely now, it even seems absurd to think about. Try it !

I’ve taken up on this advice from a different commenter on my previous post and have ordered one. I’ll have it in hands around 1st May - quite looking forward to it!

I only get the bad effects of smoking with a dry herbs vaporizer, not the good ones. At the recommended 180-200 degrees it’s just dizziness and no fun at all. At 220 degrees there is some fun effect but much smaller than when smoking in a regular way. So my dry herb vape is in a drawer, unused.

Are you talking °C or °F, because it makes a huge difference. I vape at 420 °F and get high as a fucking kite. Any less than 380 °F or so and it doesn’t hit right. If you are trying 220° F, you ain’t getting’ shit.

Also, what brand did you buy? I have had two in my life. A Vapor Genie and now an Xmax Pro V3. The instructions for the Vapor Genie say “take a slow, light pull as it works better that way.” You see, it’s a flame-based vaporizer you use with a lighter. The Xmax is a normal one, but I treated it like the Vapor Genie. Wrong! You have to hit it like your trying to suck the weed out, and it takes a few small pulls to even start producing vapor.

Watch some videos on your model. There a chance you’re doing it wrong.

220°C. It’s 428F. I have a Focusvape Adventurer, there are some reviews on youtube, I’ve watched some years ago when I tried to see what I’m doing wrong butaybe it’s time to revisit.

220°C should make some dank clouds unless yours is simply defective.

Obviously, first grind your flower. Then pack it loosely.

First, I would suggest doing a whole bunch of big “cheek puffs” where you repeatedly suck-in using only your cheeks and puffing it out when your cheeks are full. Each cycle should only be like half a second. Don’t actually inhale. The point is to draw the hot air over the flower repeatedly until it’s really hot.

You should eventually see very obvious vapor. This could take several puffs, but it should happen. Take what you feel is an appropriate hit once you see obvious vapor. I usually count 1, 2, 3, which results in a 2-second hit. Sometimes I go to 4. It really depends on the flower. Some are well cured and hit almost immediately and do so strongly. Others take some work and a little time.

I always find the first hit is the weakest. The second and third hit are the strongest, even if not vaped again until the next day. (One oven load of flower in my vape is good for me for a couple of sessions since I’m a lightweight.)

After three good hits, it tapers off. My theory is it’s because the weed got decarboxylized from the first hit and is more ready to go the second time. I mostly don’t know what I’m talking about, but I’ve repeated this observation many times: the second hit is stronger. Like I said, I’m a lightweight when it comes to weed, so I’ve had to be very careful on my dosing, and I’ve done some “science” on it.

Just be careful. Of you do get it working vapor can be deceptively strong! You feel it much less in the throat and chest and cough almost never unless you have a high wattage vaporizer which yours doesn’t appear to be.

            Good luck!

Huh. I have not been grinding, maybe that’s the problem. Lots of good hints overall, I need to sit down with your post in the evening and try doing it exactly as you said. Maybe from there on I’ll find my own way :) I’m a lightweight too, smoking maybe once or twice a month

              Thank you for the write-up!

Yeah, grinding is super important. You need lots of surface area for the air to heat it up.

Reporting from the battlefield, the grinding made the vapor thicker than I’ve ever seen from this device. Amazing, thank you for the tip sen-pai.

As for the effect, I’m definitely stoned but not uplifted. We’ll see how it goes as time passes, maybe it will take some time for the full effect to work.

ouch, I didn’t know that could happen. I use an Arizer Solo II and it works well at 220°C, in terms of effects it’s comparable to smoking. Perhaps there is some physiological difference at play?

Yea, I’m from Germany myself, so it’s 20.4., but since most people know the name as 4/20…
