The 3DS has such an extensive library of games, and I used to play it so much as my favorite console back when it first came out.

This year with the eShop closing, I went on a bit of a spending spree and picked up a lot of games for it.

Currently I’m playing through Detective Pikachu and am almost near the end. This game is surprisingly better than I thought it would be, as I’ll admit my curiosity to play it was first formed when I played Ace Attorney on 3DS, and then of course with the Ryan Reynolds movie a few years back.

After I put this one down, it’s time for Tales of Abyss - a game I’ve owned for so long but never played.

I’ll admit I haven’t picked up my 3DS in a while but I do like replaying through Fantasy Life and the Nonary trilogy from time to time.

Not sure if it counts since it’s a DS game, but Apollo Justice Ace Attorney. I’ve always loved Phoenix Wright, but as a kid the idea of a new character with a younger, different design put me off continuing the series. Now all these years later I’m trying it, and I really was a dummy back then for missing out on more Ace Attorney.

      Objection!!

Even though I’m talking about 3DS in the post, DS games are perfectly legal and acceptable in this community.

I’ll definitely have to try this one out. I’ve only played the first two Phoenix Wright games and loved them, so I’m curious about trying out the other titles in the series. Great games, zany and over the top, and relaxing game play.

You should absolutely finish the trilogy! It that series was my gateway into visual novels. The music and characters are still awesome, and it’s not too brain busting to solve the investigations. I’d really recommend it, even if you get the newer re releases of Phoenix Wright, they’re pretty fsithful!

What a game! I hope you’re enjoying it! I remember playing this shortly before I played Mario 3D World on Wii U. The 3D implementation in this was such a nice element at the time that added a new layer of dimension into the classic Mario formula.

Now a core memory unlocked and I forgot I was also starting Donkey Kong Country 3D but I never finished it. Oops, another one to add to the queue!

I’m often coming back to Sims 2 (both, the strange town version and castaway) on the NDS. Oh and the Professor Layton titles and the Phoenix Wright series

I never thought to try out the Sims on the DS. My only exposure to Sims was the first one back on PC, and Sims 4, but I never really got into them. I’m always looking for a good game to keep on the side as a portable, relaxing game to play so I’ll certainly check this one out.

I haven’t played Professor Layton, but my spouse says they love it. I introduced my spouse to Phoenix Wright, so I think if you like either of those titles you’ll like the other. Since I’m close to finishing up Detective Pikachu, I think it’s about time I juggle Professor Layton and Tales of the Abyss simultaneously.

Just as a heads-up, when you play Sims on DS, don’t expect the experience you know from PC. It is more like a RPG than a “life Simulator”, so maybe that suits you better.

I’ve been trying out Rune Factory 4 for the past week or so. It’s a decent farm sim, with some story & RPG mechanics mixed in. It kinda reminds me of a worse Stardew Valley (farming wise), but with more story, less lore, and more interesting combat. Not a bad game, imo — great to pass some time.

I’ll eventually finish Bravely Default… maybe.

On the DS/3DS? Not much, Totk is eating most of my gaming time. I’ve nearly finished it (and I’m starting to burn out on it), so that’ll probably change soon.

Anyway, about the only thing I’ve played on the 3DS for the last week have been the daily challenges in Retro Game Challenge 2.

I’m currently playing Zelda Phantom Hourglass on my iPhone thanks to Delta emulator. The game can be played 100% with stylus only and I got an active stylus for my phones capacitive screen. It’s an amazing experience!

I have so many games I want to get through but always go back to Kingdom hearts, Smash, or Mario kart
