This post is about helping @[email protected] in creating a Perchance style for Virtual Tabletop tokens. (From this Perchance forum post)
Generator used is x2x’s text2image-generator
Here are my prompts and images in my current testing:
Japanese Token
style: No Style
prompt: (3d model in top down view:1.1), (from above:1.3), from behind, plain background, person with a katana, edo style
n_prompt: soft shadows, hard shadows, reflections
res: 512x512
seed: random
Thief in white Clothing
style: No Style
prompt: (3d model in top down view:1.1), (from above:1.3), from behind, plain background BREAK a male thief with white clothes knife in hand, fantasy d&d style
n_prompt: soft shadows, hard shadows, reflections, disc
res: 512x512
seed: random
We can probably increase more emphasis on the from above
or at the 3d model in top view
, but any higher than 1.5
is muddy.
Essentially adding:
(3d model in top down view:1.1), (from above:1.3), from behind, plain background
Before your actual prompt will make the image like it is from top down.
Thanks! I will play around with this and see what i can get. (Also thanks for clearing up what the other forum was for.)

I posted some examples. You can try my generator if you like: https://perchance.org/fusion-ai-image-generator
I have savefiles for character portraits you can try , which can be found on this discord channel : https://discord.gg/6MvKGWAk
Examples
@[email protected] With Paint3D , you can take a generated 2D image and paste it onto a 3D model.
That way we don’t have to worry too much about perspective and can instead focus on the artstyle
@[email protected] pinging :)
Also, @[email protected] ask insight on how to improve the prompt.
Some tweaks to the initial prompt:
prompt = solo standing realistic 3d (character model in top down (drone:0.8) perspective:1.4), (overhead perspective:1.2), (from above:1.3), plain background, a {male|female} {human|elven|orcish|dwarven|halfling} {knight|thief|warrior|ranger|bard|wizard|mage}, fantasy themed, d&d negativePrompt = porn, nude, child, (drones:1.3), shadows BREAK (looking up:1.3), laying down, backdrop, vignette, mesh, anime, cartoon, painting, drawing, photograph, low quality, worst quality resolution = 512x768 seed = random guidanceScale = 7
Images
It would be a challenge to get images like this:
Image from Reddit - Townsfolk Countryside Tokens
which I would assume @[email protected] is aiming for.
Notes: The
a {male|female} {human|elven|orcish|dwarven|halfling} {knight|thief|warrior|ranger|bard|wizard|mage}
is a Perchance syntax which will randomize the images. It would evaluate likea male human thief
ora female orcish bard
etc., just to showcase the prompt in multiple images.drone perspective
,overhead perspective
- somewhat gives overhead view of the images. (we also reduce thedrone
in thedrone perspective
to prevent the drone bleed in the image).looking up
- in negative prompt reduces the character looking at the camera above.drones
- in negative prompt since usingdrone perspective
adds drones in the picture (or some elements of it)
Here’s what I managed so far. I generated alot of people that were viewed from above, yet the person was looking upward. Easy to do landscape photography and vehicles and even a cupcake, lol. These are the only people I managed to do correctly (tho the person is distorted), which hints that it IS possible, but I’m not sure how yet. something like ((google maps image)) apparently does good overhead landscape photos. (from above) sometimes is pretty effective. and at least one of these very rare actual top down person images was from a prompt about ‘drone photography’. currently the style on beautiful-people I have doing this mix and matches from a small list that I am refining to this very day!
Feel free to browse the SD 1.5 token list for something useful: https://huggingface.co/runwayml/stable-diffusion-v1-5/raw/main/tokenizer/vocab.json
For example “dungeonsanddragons</w>”
and “tabletop” and “tabletop</w>” exist as tokens
Virtual tabletop stuff
isometric level roleplaying
isometric knight character reference sheet
birdseye view of a knight from above
knight icon for tabletop game character
8bit knight sprite turnbased rpg
how do you know he’s a thief? where does he store his loot?
jk. interesting quest! i will passively start a style on Beautiful People and grow it over the next few days and see what I can make for a Virtual Tabletop Token style.
edit: reading the original, I see exactly the issue and this literally was my first Quest myself on Perchance. I was making a game with a topdown view and tried making topdown images and it was definitely not as easy as it would seem. Let’s see if I or others can solve it now :)
