I guess he’s mad that he can’t read? It looks pretty clear to me. It’s even communicating it multilingually.

It’s even more clear if it’s not that cropped picture. Here’s the whole carton. Nowhere on it does it say “ice cream,” and it’s pretty clear that it’s plant based.

People infected with conservatism tend to turn into Mr. Magoo when looking at the majority of evidence, it’s easier to accept and spread FUD that way.

There are good reasons to not buy or eat Haagen Dazs, but they’re mostly related to the fact that they’re owned by Nestle.

I don’t get what he is complaining about…

The sign didn’t say “Ice cream sale”, the jar is clearly labeled as a plant based alternative and there’s a legal requirement for the ingredients to be present on the side (thanks to liberal gov btw).

What more does this guy want? Oh, he wants his party in power, i see.

Stealthy plants. Plants in jungle camo. Plants in… plant’s clothing. Plant plant. Semantic satiety. Plant

when we’re buying milk, we get milk from a cow

So, milk from goat (female goat is called nanny, but writing it would be weird) or female buffalo is not real milk?

Human milk, commercially available, would be an interesting concept.

Human cheese, human yogurt, etc… I’ve brought this up to people before and most of them get really squicked out by it.

Honestly, I’d try it, but I feel like it might be too easy to spread diseases that way.

So it’s Nestlé’s fault I can’t get it in my coffee? Damn you Nestlé!

I’ve worked around buffalo, the last bloody thing I would do is try to milk one.

One irony is that the bugs intentionally put into his food are hidden under obscure names in the ingredients list. Words in small print like cochineal or carmine.

TIL that in other countries ice cream always contains some kind of milk. Don’t let this person come to Italy or they will be very disappointed in the lack of milk in almost all kinds of fruit flavored ice creams…

In Australia, gelato just refers to Italian style ice cream, with sorbet being used to refer to the fruitier ones that usually have no dairy.

I just thought it was a fancy way to call it so that stores could overprice it (never been to the US yet, but I have seen shops call it like that all around Europe). Today I discovered I was very wrong!

I forgot the correct term. I meant sorbet

Suffering from Sun poisoning and a bad first degree sunburn since I was stupid and forgot that UV rays penetrate the clouds with no interference unlike visible light.

Sorry to hear that, take care!

Thanks for the clarification, now I learned even more! Here we have something with a similar name (sorbetto) that is actually very different (it’s a beverage)… So confusing!

But it doesn’t say “milk” or “ice cream”, does it? He’s actually upset because he saw “Haagen Dasz”, and he thinks that that must contain dairy- he even said as much. Faux outrage designed to serve his political ends.

I had some Ben and Jerry’s dairy free made from sunflower oil recently. Fucking amazing, better than ice cream I thought. But the oatly stuff is pretty good too. Anyone know how this haagen dazs tastes?
