    Los Doyers finally getting vtubers.

Honestly, considering Japan’s obsession with baseball and the Dodgers, its not too surprising. Though it is a bit of a headscratcher still.

They’re opening up a US office, so it makes sense they’re testing out US sponsorships. They already have Japanese baseball sponsorships and they’re also planning to open their office in CA, near LA isn’t an odd location for that.

      Shohei Ohtani plays for them.

Yeah but he isn’t connected to Vtubers or Hololive specifically, right?

I understand why Japan would do this in a general sense, but its odd to me that a vtuber agency like Hololive would have a collab with MLB. Just like Niji (HA) having a collab with NBA. I don’t imagine there is a large overlapping demographic where the vtubing agencies think they will gain a lot of revenue or new followers from it. I would imagine some anime specifically related to baseball would have a larger overlap.

Japanese player and Japanese company. That was my point.

Also baseball is popular in Japan. They did Nippon Professional Baseball league so why not do MLB.

Yeah, I know. I agree with you.

I just don’t see the market overlap they want to tap into being there. Like how there probably aren’t a large number of F1 fans that would have an interest in marketing for home office products. I don’t see how they make a lot of money from this from a business perspective.

It’s about getting more eye balls looking at you. Some of them may become fans and buy some merchandise.
