Brent is slightly wrong with that but not enough to change how depressing it is. Brent accidentally remembered him as Michael Rapaport because of the comedian but the actors name was David Rappaport. He also attempted suicide during the filming of that episode but was unsuccessful. He later killed himself 3 days before the episode was released, a couple of months later. As for why he killed himself there was a lot of speculation but no specific reason was pointed to. The more commonly pointed to reason was dwindling parts and his character on a prominent TV show was killed off. Brent might be misremembering the fact that David initially attempted suicide a couple of days before his wedding.
