Before the launch, one of the mission scientists took Laika home to play with his children. In a book chronicling the story of Soviet space medicine, Vladimir Yazdovsky wrote, “Laika was quiet and charming … I wanted to do something nice for her: She had so little time left to live.”
Who’s cutting onions 😢
I saw a documentary, showing lots of the dogs that went to space, it was so sad to see them good boys all happy and excited getting prepared for the take off.
When I was three, my mother said to me, “Eat up your greens, and say your grace,”
While on TV they put a dog in space
And left her there, you should have seen her face
I had mentally blocked this knowledge out 😭 now it needs surpressing again.
I know. I’m sorry. But she’s such a good girl and deserves to be remembered.
Oh my God that’s sad!! She was on my episode of For all Mankind tonight.
