    Always start with the simple stuff first. Even if you think you just checked it, it doesn’t hurt to check something that takes less than 10 seconds to check again. And that check could save you from wasting 3 hours.

      My ethernet cables haven’t had the clips on them in as long as I can remember. It’s obviously not that difficult for them to get dislodged. I was having trouble with my internet one day and I verified everything was plugged in multiple times, by unplugging then replugging. Didn’t fix it. I gave up and called customer support. First step was to have me do it again. I told them I had already done it but would do it again. And that fixed it.

      🤷 Still, was glad it was a simple problem.

      for example: check the fuse/breaker before you rewire.

    I was going nuts trying to figure out why the opnsense router I built wouldn’t post.

    Internet searches for “six beeps then 3 beeps” for the niche board I have said it could be anything from a failing main board chipset to a faulty keyboard.

    Turns out I didn’t seat the SODIMM sticks well enough…
