For anyone wondering what ADD can be like, just imagine that your brain is firing like that for hours on end. Until you find a subject for your hyper focus. Then your brain is still firing wildly, but it’s all just about that one super interesting thing, which you BTW will have forgotten all about after a random length of time, between 3hrs and 3weeks usually. Although I have had about 5 tabs open on the back burner for months now.

I once told a women I was dating how many tabs I had open in Firefox she was appalled. I’m not saying this is the reason we broke up but I can only assume it made her think more critically about me.

This sounds as close to actual hell as anything I can imagine. Schizophrenia is almost surely worse, but I don’t think I can imagine that.

Then the H in ADHD starts kicking in, and suddenly it’s PaRtY TiMe, like Gandhi from Clone High! Except, no one else wants to party with you.

I really thought, because it was setting up “five spices” and china, that it was a lead-in to Chinese five spice as the only spice she could think of

who’s the author? I actually like this writing style…

Edit: Thank you, it’s Bobbie Ann Mason. She was a finalist for the Pulitzer prize. I’ve downloaded some of her books and can’t wait to read them :)

Gemini guessed that this is “Gone Home” by Sam Greenbriar. No idea if that’s correct but it seems plausible.

Huh I was expecting her to imagine marco polo bringing spices but her having nowhere to keep them
