While I loved PropertyCity while I lived there, my early years in RuralTown showed that’s where the real Country really is. We had a herd of FarmAnimals and would always go down to the WaterBody on the weekends where the LargeMammals roamed free and wild!

Why are females typed differently than males instead of a base class human with a gender identity parameter? Why would human anything have a function called young?? What would that function even do???

HumanFemales and HumanM both inherit from the Ape base class, it’s from an older java code base. We tried to change it once but it turned out the person that had written had retired and any changes we made just broke stuff.

The young method returns a boolean parameter. Females have a different type for obvious biological discrepancies that require extra functionality.

I can accept your second point, but in your PR I would absolutely request you to rename the method to isYoung, and then in making said comment I would then ask… what value isYoung providing, and where is the line between young and !young ultimately for trying to get the dev to reevaluate the design. It’s hyper specific in an obtuse manner and I think it hints at design flaws especially with the perspective of product evolution

Could be a subclass. However, it should just be an ‘is’ method which is passed the array of [young, pretty] as input

The other day I was having a bad day and had a call from an unknown number, so I decided to pick up but let them talk first. They just hang up and have not called again.

I don’t think it was a good idea to pick up in the first place, but it was curious in the end.

Iirc, that’s usually a sign that the robot caller has found a machine on the other end, since most people first respond with some sort of greeting right off the bat.

The phrase itself doesn’t matter, they are just listening for some indication of human speech at the start of the call.

If nothing is said, then the system believes that it is a machine doing the same thing.

Provided, of course, that their spam system doesn’t just starts playing a recorded message anyway.

Back during the real estate frenzy of the late 2010s I would get calls all the time asking how much I would sell my house for. I’d say “I could probably let it go for 2 million dollars.” (Even at the ridiculous peak, it was never worth more than 750k.) There would be a few seconds of silence on the line while they actually looked up my house. Then they’d say “oh.” And hang up as fast as humanly possible.

They’ll never reply because it’s just to see if you respond, and if you do does it sound like you own the property.

    Like

    Stop texting me

Just means the number is in service, which makes it worth a little more.

    I’m not selling

Means it’s a real number and belongs to the property owner. They verified your name, address. And lots of shit and tied it to your number. You phone number is now worth a (relatively) lot of money when sold to other spammers.

Jokes on them, I like getting scammer calls and fucking with them. My favorite was when a scammer called me from a German phone number (I’m in Canada). I answered by yelling “NEIN, NEIN, NEIN, NEIN!”. My family looked at me like I was crazy lmao.

I occasionally get texts offering to buy a house I used to live in. Which was in a state 800 miles from where I’m living now. Which I lived in for six months almost 30 years ago. And in which I just rented an apartment, the unit of which is part of the address they include in the text message. For bonus points, this house was torn down years ago.

Abundance of PascalCase in ThreadName disturbs me. If you don’t use FormatSymbol as format symbol at least name variables in camelCase. Or snake_case, or at the very least SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE.

Hmm, I’m thinking - We should place a bunch properties and just name them something like "${username}" - "${password}" and variations of that, and see we can “find/replace” cross-site script them into sending their bots details
