Washington, DC – US President Joe Biden has begun a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a day after thousands of people protested against the Israeli leader’s visit to the United States capital amid the Gaza war.

US Vice President Kamala Harris, the likely Democratic presidential nominee in November’s election, is also expected to hold talks with Netanyahu on Thursday.

The Biden administration has continued to provide unwavering support to Israel amid the conflict in Gaza, authorising billions of dollars in military aid and providing Israel with key diplomatic backing.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Netanyahu said he “looked forward” to working with Biden during the remainder of his term.

“I look forward to it as well,” Biden responded.

Netanyahu is visiting this week, now would be her time to magically find a spine.

Her track record so far is not looking good.

Magically find a spine? She called for a ceasefire long before Biden during a time when his press secretary wasn’t allowed to speak that way. Kamala may not pull funding the way we’d like her to, but all evidence points to her being less forgiving of zionist warcrimes than Biden. Weighing the options and alternative realities, this timeline became much brighter the moment Biden dropped and endorsed her.

What does “less forgiving” even mean here, better rhetoric? Words and shaming haven’t and won’t stop Israel’s genocide.

Unless she puts an actual stop to the funding and weapons or helps enforce the ICJ/UN rulings on Israel there isn’t going to be a material change to the genocide.

kamela’s ceasefire call was the most yesyesyesno moment of 2024. Guess you never saw the actual video of her backtracking it.

Or you could vote for Trump. Up to you I guess, but odd choice if this is your sticking point on who to vote for.

it’s odd that i don’t want my election officials to engage in genocide? are you able to see how unhinged that is?

I do, but I also see the reality of voting in the USA’s two party system and understand what not voting for the democratic nominee means. There will be one of two outcomes in November, and one is notably worse than the other, especially for the situation over in Palestine.

our 2 party system has been enacting recommendations from project 2025 since 1980; we’re somewhere around 75% so far and that’s not going to stop if we keep voting democrat or republicans. also wholesale extermination of the gazans is already a preventable tragedy that we’re enabling; taking it to a further extreme isn’t going to change that.

You’re not wrong, but voting third party or no vote in the general doesn’t do anything positive for change. It’s a sad reality, but you have two options for the general, and local and state elections are where change can happen. Ideally you’d have primaries, but that didn’t really happen this cycle, although I personally don’t think it would have made a difference this cycle. Again, it’s not fair and it’s not ideal, but when life gives you lemons, you can try to make lemonade or let a fascist dictator wannabe shit in your mouth. I don’t particularly enjoy lemonade, but I’m pretty sure I would hate Trump poop in my mouth worse.

They’re just going to steamroll everyone on the genocide and nothing will change. This is fucking horrendous. The only way this changes if the U.S. falls off the sphere of influence to the rest of the world probably aligning with China. This is completely untenable.
