Never cease to amaze me the hypocrisy of some states to condemn so vehemently abortion and then don’t give an absolute f**k about childcare and education.

If the stories about Ben J Wattenburg’s influence are true then it’s on purpose bc white people ostensibly have more abortions. Republicans are almost exclusively supported by uneducated white folk

If you look into how they treat women in anything but service industries, you’ll see how it all lines up. Women are supposed to have menial jobs they can quit easily, have kids and raise them personally (without daycare), and then once they’re either grown up or at least in school, get an approved career like nurse or teacher. Either way, that’s just the side quest. The real quest is making and raising babies while the man has a career to support the family.

Yep, and if they’re young when pregnant, they often aren’t able to finish school.

To make matters worse, the physical recovery/healing sounds like a nightmare.

In Norway is capped to 300 a month or so.

Over half of that you get back on your taxes

I tried just chilling at the daycare, but they kept asking me to “leave or we’ll call the cops again,” whatever that means.

Where in the hell does it cost that much?

    Where I live it’s ~$210/mo, for two kids, total…

I’d like to know where YOU live? I’m in a a midwestern town of about 45,000 and it costs me about $18,000 a year for two toddlers.

Is it a kindergarten for five kids? Do they only serve Caviar? How the hell could it possibly be so expensive?

/me cries in Dutch childcare payments

(They’re not far off from the post you’re replying to for my 2 year old in the Netherlands, though we do get a little back from the government…)

Why would you not put this dollar amount in the same unit of measure the rest of the people in the conversation are using? $18,000 / year is $1500 / month.

Sorry, didn’t realize it was so hard for you to do basic math on your own. Won’t happen again, boss.
