I love taking vitamin c tablets like candy throughout the day because I have an addiction to the tangy ones. I try not to go above 3000 MG although I know 2000 is the upper limit or something that someone should be taking at maximum. But I want to know if I keep my nasty vice going without hurting myself?

Edit: okay I’ve looked over the comments and hear you guys loud and clear. Cutting back to 1000mg a day and hopefully one day, down to just one pill. Thank you for the comments!

Would not recommend. As the other poster’s link mentioned, it is possible to cause negative symptoms, although you’re less likely to do this with water soluble vitamin C than it is with the fat soluble vitamins A,D,E,K.

In all likelihood you’re just making expensive urine.

Why not just find some tangy citric acid based candy that you like?

Yes. Anything more than 2000 mg, aka two freaking grams, is likely to cause diarrhea. Because that’s the symptom of a Vit C overdose. It will cause your body to flush water and with it other water soluble vitamins. Unless you are lactating or a blood test says you need more there is no reason to consume more than 120 mg a day. And with the Standard American Diet [SAD] you will get plenty of vit c because so many things are fortified with C that not getting the RDA is very difficult.

So by taking 3 grams a day you, waste money, flush other vitamins potentially creating new issues, spend too much time on the pot.

Vit C is clinically proven to prevent scurvy. And that’s about it. Its benefits are extremely over stated by people trying to take your money. Airborne is a scam.

Yes. And you will regret it. Vitamin C is a water soluble chemical, and when your body notices that it has too much, it will start to get rid of it through watery methods. This mostly means diarrhea.

And another word for vitamin C is ascorbic acid. Acid and the delicate skin of balloon knots are not a good combination.

To quote a friend of mine: “It buuuuurns”

As someone in dental, I’m crying about your teeth. That’s a lot of acidity to be putting in your mouth.

The inside of your urethra is delicate and sensitive. Have you ever seen a kidney stone? They’re sharp and spikey, like crystals. Imagine that, and it should help you cut this addiction.

2000mg will already destroy your kidneys, especially if you don’t drink enough water

Anyone with cold symptoms will be propelled away from you at speeds high enough to fracture human bones. Carefully consider how you’ll use this power.

Although too much dietary vitamin C is unlikely to be harmful, large doses of vitamin C supplements might cause:

Diarrhea Nausea Vomiting Heartburn Stomach (abdominal) cramps Headache

Remember, for most people, a healthy diet provides enough vitamin C.

Thank you! Maybe I’ll cut back to having one day a week to indulge at 3000 mg and other days 2000.

        Enjoy your kidney stones.

Vitamin C is harmless when overdone. Most other vitamins / medications can be much worse.

When the flu starts, it is actually good to take a 3x or 10x amount for a few days.

In your case, watch out if there is extra sugar in these tablets. That would cause much more harm.
