Georgia’s GOP-controlled State Election Board is poised to adopt a rule on Monday that would give county election board members an additional avenue to delay certification of election results, potentially allowing them to throw the state’s vote count into chaos this fall.

A former Fulton County election official who submitted an initial draft of the rule told ProPublica that she had done so at the behest of a regional leader of a right-wing organization involved in challenging the legitimacy of American election systems. That organization, the Election Integrity Network, is led by Cleta Mitchell, who helped orchestrate attempts to overturn the 2020 election and spoke on the callin which former President Donald Trump demanded that Georgia’s secretary of state “find” him 11,780 votes to undo Joe Biden’s victory.

The Election Integrity Network’s role in bringing forward the proposed rule has not been previously reported.

“Election deniers” is an inaccurate description.

They’re fraudsters and seditionists, pure and simple. All of their efforts in 2020 were to effectively overthrow the US government by fraudulently handing the election to Trump, and since they failed, all of their efforts since then have been to try to make it so that they can succeed in 2024.

All too true. I’m so tired of euphemism being used for these awful people. I had to laugh when the right cried tears over how the media was calling the J6 an insurrection and the people in it insurrectionists.

That’s being overly nice to these people. What they were engaged in would more properly be called terrorism and the people engaged in it should be called terrorists.

Fuck the unAmerican, unpatriotic assholes for cheating and stealing the very foundations of our ideals. This is what happens when these people weren’t held accountable for January 6th and the first attempt to overthrow our government. If they had been held accountable, they would not be able to hold government positions and oversight positions over the very things they tried to overthrow. They should have been charged with felonies and lost their right to vote, quite honestly.

We’ve depended upon the courts to prevent the next insurrection, but they see either already corrupt as we’re seeing with the SC, or they’re toothless due to lack of precedent in this.

We’re sleep walking into another civil war and the result will not depend upon right or wrong, but will be dependent upon who wields the power and weapons. We can’t depend upon the government or the military doing the right thing as trump will get rid of all the barriers that existed 4 years ago.

People are paying way too little attention to this. It has become clear that Trump’s intention is to use his army of MAGA cultists to cheat much more effectively than he did in 2020… and in 2020 he almost succeeded.

People are paying way too little attention to this.

The media conveniently ignores it. Loads of media companies are for profit instead of reporting what’s going on. Media is needed in a democracy. Unfortunately media being a business makes them easy to be bought.

Also, with this, it makes it wayyyyy too hard for them to revert to their stupid “both sides” narratives and being “objective”, “neutral”, etc…

If they were to properly report it, it’s not like they can credibly claim “both sides” on election shenanigans…for example, letting cons bleat about mail-in voting as if it’s some nefarious plot only makes the cons look ridiculous to most people. So if the corporate media downplays this, it is not surprising at all.

Why don’t these dumbfucks work on trying to win due to, oh I don’t know, a popular platform?

    Instead of all this fuckery?
