I like them, they’re entertaining. The second one got a little convoluted, but I still enjoyed it. I also just like the character Benoit Blanc.

I’ll be looking forward to this new one.

They’re not my favorite movies or anything, though it is still entertaining to see an ensemble of popular actors doing campy stuff together in one movie.

I actually liked Glass Onion because I thought Edward Norton playing a pathetic scummy rich guy was fun.

Its nice to see that Norton learned his lesson from The Italian Job and it was to double down on scummy pathetic rich guy.

Though it’s a shame he hasn’t come back to neonazi in a while.

I’m just not sure I see the appeal… they mash in this weird campiness that makes it hard for me to enjoy it on a serious level, especially the second. I love a good mystery too, the old masterpiece theater productions of Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Ironsides were favorites. I also really enjoyed the new ones with Cumberbatch, so it’s not like I’m opposed to a modern reinterpretation.

I can’t get over them still calling them Knives Out mysteries. It really seems like a terrible misstep.

They were fun movies but not compelling enough mysteries.

@Pronell @Blaze I wish they kept making these movies, but with a different lead. No need for it to be a series unless all the criminals he’s brought to justice come for him in a series finale to like kill him or something

As is tradition the finale will feature Benoit Blanc solving his own murder that would be revealed to be a ploy to capture a serial murderer. That would end on an ambiguous cliffhanger about whether or not he faked his death and is still alive.

Johnson clearly stumbled over himself when writing the script for the second one.

I loved the first one though.

I saw the first one and wondered what all the fuss was about - I was expecting something clever and meta but it was not much more than a decently adapted Agatha Christie with a slightly distracting lead performance (looking at you too Sir Ken). I haven’t got around to watching the second.

Daniel Craig sounding like Foghorn Leghorn? I’m interested. Ana de Arma as the lead? Yes please.

Started watching the first one and heard the fake southern accents and couldn’t keep watching.

I started watching, realized that vomiting was going to be a plot device, and noped out. I mostly watch shows during meals. Who wants to watch people vomit? Disgusting .
