We’ve already seen from cameras on the ground this is not true though. Why keep pushing this?

Keep the protests going. Harris herself said she has to earn support, so it is on her.

Stay safe. Police are out in force and they’re not pulling punches.

Efforts inside the convention to get a pro-Palestinian speaker on behalf of the Uncommitted Delegation appear to have been thoroughly quashed by DNC staffers. And it looks like efforts to organize outside of the convention are also being harassed and censored.

People are worried because of the upcoming election. We should still hold our politicians accountable, regardless. I agree.

Noooo you can’t criticize my candidate it will make it harder for her to win like how people criticized Biden which made him quit and… checks notes completely turn around the election?

Huh, it’s almost as if people are literally begging to vote for someone they want to vote for

I think we can both agree this is a very complicated/politically nuanced situation

No, I don’t agree with that. People have been gaslit (sorry) into thinking it’s a complicated situation with no fixes when reality is very cut and dry: Colonialist forces invaded, created an ethnostate, forced the population into an open prison and are proceeding to commit genocide with full support of the freedom loving international community.

There are people who think this is inhumane and they’re right to make their voices heard. It’s the candidate’s job to compromise with their electorate, not the other way around.

LMFAO see bro I think the exact same way, and using my critical thinking skills I used to reach that conclusion, I also deduced that the Democratic party is the only one that will even attempt to find a 2-state solution. Please, though, keep saying how terrible Kamala and the Democrats are. That’s totally the correct way to ensure Gaza exists in 10 years.

Edit: oh I recognize the ID, this is just a troll

So I’m supposed to ignore the last 60 years of unblinking support for genocide because this time they promised. Wait, they didn’t even promise it, they continue to support and send weapons and shutting down discussions that would give Palestinians any rights.

But sure, the only way to stop genocide is to be complicit in genocide. Go Team Uncritical Support of the Lesser Evil

Colonialist forces invaded, created an ethnostate

Er, it was the British who colonized Palestine. Then the Jews came as refugees who had been invited by Britain. Then the British left, and it was the Jews who created the ethnostate.

So the people who invaded and the people who created the ethnostate were two different groups of people.

Sorry if that sounds pedantic, but I think it’s important to be clear on what happened in this case.

Sure. They did that too, but that was after the creation of the ethnostate.

Britain took Palestine in 1916. In 1917, they invited Jews to settle there in the Balfour Declaration.

The British left in May 1948, and the Jewish settlers declared the existence of Israel (driving out 750,000 Palestinian refugees) in July. Then Israel annexed East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza in 1967, and they’ve been building illegal settlements in the West Bank since then.

Again, just trying to be clear on what happened. I’m not trying to downplay any of it.

as they should be. These people are simply attempting to hurt the democratic ticket. Where were they at the RNC? The fact they werent there is proof they believe the only party that’d listen is the Democrats, and if they believed that, they’d want the Democrats to win. But they don’t. So they’re, at the very least, anti-democratic. And should be ignored. Especially during the fucking DNC. Idiots

Where were they at the RNC?

How many Palestinian-Americans are registered Republican?

It appears that these protests are being championed from within the respective parties, with a large cohort of “Uncommitted” liberal voters out of the Midwest leading the charge.

Who denies that? Both Hamas and the Israeli government are terrorists wanted by the ICC for crimes against humanity.

I understand I’ll get downvoted for this but Harris said herself, as did Biden this week at the DNC that the protesters have a point, and that Harris wants a 2-state solution, ceasefire, hostages returned. Donald Trump wants Bibi to hold off and kill the ceasefire, to “finish the job”.

Harris is the best route to ensuring that Palestine continues to receive US based aid as well as support for the end of the war.

It is NEVER about getting EVERYTHING or NOTHING. If you set yourself on all or nothing, you will almost always end up with nothing.

I’m voting Harris because I believe she is the best chance Palestine has right now.

And many of these Palestine protester groups are on a team of their own, they are looking for an ‘all or nothing solution’ and anything else is against the team so burn it all down (many interviewed talk of destroying the whole system). Interesting how it’s okay when it supports your interest, huh?
