Jeep said the Wagoneer S will arrive at dealerships this fall with a starting price of $71,995. However, that may not be the case.

Filosa said the electric Wagoneer is almost ready, but if its quality is not up to par, it may not launch on time. Speaking with Automotive News, Filosa made clear, “No launch if the quality isn’t perfect.”

As Jeep’s first electric SUV for North America, its most important market, the Wagoneer S, is crucial as it looks to revamp the brand.

This is just stupid expensive. They can just skip the release in my opinion.

Chrysler/Stellantis. Releasing anything of “perfect quality.”

    Ha.

    Ha ha.

    Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha.

    Sorry, that’s a good one.

I was watching a documentary on jet engine cars … I was surprised it was Chrysler that had done the work. It would take someone older than me to know if Chrysler really used to be an innovator and turned into a mediocre brand or if it’s been that way all along.

The predecessor company had several significant innovative periods. Heck, I’d say that when Lee Iacocca took over and developed the minivan platform with the Dodge Caravan it was innovative. Maybe minivans aren’t sexy, but they were an untapped market and sold a lot of units for Chrysler and basically defined the vehicle category for many years.

I was a kid when Lee Iacocca took over, but all I remember is his name was EVERYWHERE. I didn’t know who he was or what he did, but I knew his name. One of his big newsworthy things was taking the $1 salary, which to a young person sounded wild and revolutionary (I have no idea how new that idea was back then). And the minivan was definitely revolutionary. I can still remember my dad buying our first minivan (it was the Astro instead of the Caravan) and thinking it was the coolest thing ever. The Caravan was the trailblazer for the new style.

Minivans are sexy if you read the owners manual about the features, but reading isn’t sexy.

And when it fails to sell, Stellantis will be all “no one wants EVs.”

an electric Renegade priced under $25,000

That’s much more interesting than the $70k+ suburban grocery hauler.

Totally agree. Everyone is rolling out these 50-70k cars and wondering why they don’t sell. Well they are too damn expensive that is why.
