There are plenty of good background episodes, but if it’s Measure of a Man, the Borg episodes, Q, or Vash, I know I’m not getting anything done.

This is why I can’t work with the TV on. Hell, even podcasts are dangerous for me

That why I switched to classical music during chores. But there are so many facets and subtleties to a violin that you can hear if you listen very closely. … and that’s how I found out I was on the spectrum.

I did this with John Mulaney’s “New In Town” when it first came out. Was going to be background sounds while I cleaned and ironed. Did neither.

When I discovered his original 3 stand-up specials on Netflix, I watched them with full attention. After that I watched them when I went to bed. Watch until I fell asleep (usually within 5 minutes). The next day pick up where I last remembered and did it again. I rotated through them at bedtime for months. Gotta have something entertaining, but not actively engaging so I can fall asleep to it. Comedy specials the 2nd or 3rd time through work for this. No surprises means I don’t miss anything by falling asleep.

That’s why I put <BAD SERIES> on, then I’m never tempted to stop and watch.

I go with music on vinyl because there’s nothing to sit to watch and the the inability to skip a song or change bands from my phone means I’m much more likely to get at least 1 side of 1 album of work done before I get distracted.
