He wound up being more flexible than his Republican counterparts, but I think you’re well within your rights to say they’ve never properly repented for those actions. They’ve mostly just kinda been like “its in the past, just let it be in the past” when it’s like… Man, you were an arms dealer in the culture war. You got the power and the platform to combat climate change by harming queer, black, and queer and black kids.

I think it was still too late to avoid the worst of it, but with him as President in 2000 some things would have changed by now for the better, and some things would have been prevented. Or maybe not, alternative history is hard to predict, and maybe GWB was the better choice for the US and the world after all.
