I use Linux. Using apt to update everything looks so much cooler than windows updates. It’s also a lot more informative when there’s issues.
The fact that it makes me look like a Hollywood hacker, at least when I’ve been lazy and not updated for a while, is just a nice bonus.
TBF, anyone who can open Terminal can probably hack the average Facebook Grandma.
Until this day, always when i open a terminal on my colleague’s Mac and fix his problem with mostly [ up,up,up -> Enter ] he keeps looking at me like i just took a dump in front of his house, for the rest of the day.
Edit: we have worked together for 20 years by now
Could it be that you took a dump in front of his house before fixing his problem?
I have the opposite experience where I opened a terminal on a colleague’s Mac and fixed his env variables and he was mostly impressed.
I sorta miss this but I am far enough that I tend to only deal with IT people so im sorta insulated from this.
