I remember watching a video about that. The thing is that gifted kids don’t learn learning. It’s all easy to them until it is not and at that point, all the others have learned techniques for memorizing and stuff but the gifted kid never sat at the homework for any reasonable length

I think that can be it for some but there is another type where you are able to jump through all the hoops and you enjoy jumping hoops and then suddenly people stop holding up hoops in front of you and you realize you never learned how to make hoops for yourself. Something like that.

Or you’ve been jumping through only one type of hoop for 20 years without realizing that your parents’ trauma has you hooping in a circle.

And then you get to college and find one class that is actually hard and you have no idea what to so you just cry. (Definitely isn’t me rn)

I feel like 80% of people feel like they were former gifted children and because they’re lazy didn’t make anything of themselves lol

Yeah I had never come across so many “gifted children” until I went online. Everyone on the internet was somehow a “gifted child”, but I don’t see this in person. Pretty sure a lot of people are just making shit up. I did well in school as a kid, but I didn’t have any special name for it.

My school had a test and then you got put in a special class and had individualized education plans you had to do every trimester. I think it was about 5% of the school. If your state doesn’t have this program I could see it coming off as weird/made up/something only internet people say (because the internet people had the program and the people around you didn’t).

You can search for gifted and talented education to find the kind of program I’m talking about. It isn’t kids or parents deciding they’re gifted but the school telling them they are.
