As Trump called the Nov. 5 election a “chance to send a message,” he stopped his remarks and turned to the crowd.
“Back home to mommy, she goes back home to mommy,” Trump said, resuming his speech and appearing to address a heckler. “‘Was that you darling?’ And she gets the hell knocked out of her. Her mother’s a big fan of ours, you know that right? Her father, her mother. You always have that.”

It’s weird they don’t see an issue with threatening someone in a forum of politics.

I miss the US having a real president who understood politics. Obama heckler (1:00)

I mean, promoting violence. Yes, against women. But at all is a disgrace. And his rabid idiots eat it up. We’re five seconds away from Germany in the bad times.

And not any violence, but domestic violence! Certainly one of the right’s top 3 favourite flavours of violence.

Wait… why are you calling this domestic violence? Is it a new Trump meme or am I confused of the legal definition of domestic in domestic abuse or domestic violence or domestic dispute? It means family or shared residence, right?

Yes, Trump said she would go home, where her MAGA family would “knock the hell out of her”.

I just asked this in another hread so apologize if you already saw it but how the fuck does it always seemed like I’m the only one getting paywalled out of being able to read so many articles. I hate that I never assume a commentor isn’t just being too lazy to read and is actually blocked from reading the article. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves and I call people out for it all the time but never remember to ask if the person I reply to was even capable of reading the article.

Edit: Also I’m not talking specifically about the Washington Post. I do know they have an article limit that once you hit they will block me from reading anymore articles that week.

Check the body of the post. There’s a paywall bypass URL. You can use archive.ph to bypass most paywalls by going there and entering the URL. In fact, most of the time, someone has already archived it.

I wish I could tell you. I can guess a bit. I automatically open articles and links in private mode, so less/no tracking. I also use raspberry pi with pi hole for DNS, so less tracking again. I’m outside the US, so if there are Geo restrictions in place I might not be subject to them.

Don’t threaten me with a good time!

Imagine how nice it would be to have the Trump news cycle focused on his movements throughout Siberia to evade his enemies, rather than focused on a potential chaotic dismantling of the US.

But we got several paragraphs dedicated to sane washing Trumps policy. This is how the media help elect Trump. They had a choice here. Trump calls for domestic violence, you write an article talking about domestic violence rates, give polling info on attitudes towards domestic violence, give party legislative history on domestic violence, talk about Trumps history with violent rhetoric and his own accusations of being violent with his wife. You don’t dispense of it in the first two paragraphs then spend the rest giving Trump a sane washed campaign ad.

But but but he was just being hyperbolic. He wasn’t serious. Anyone who actually does it was just acting in their own. No one is influenced by just words. That’s impossible. Not even hitler could influence by just words, and even if he did we are smarter today then we were back then. So it still wasn’t trumps fault. And you are just afraid of the truth and have no sense of humor. Also everyone else does it. So that makes it ok.

He tells it like it is. You just don’t get it. But also he’s never serious. Unless I want him to be. Then he’s serious. But usually he’s joking. Unless it’s in bad taste, then it’s just not what you think it is. Or maybe you’re a snowflake. Idk the pieces are all there, one of those things should get me out of this…

The system is literally weighted heavily in their favor. If we had a real democracy, this clown would never have been elected, and Al Gore would be emperor of the moon.

Im guilty of giving up sometimes.

          I could do more.

…thank whatever Im not an alcoholic, because I figure this is how you start

lets just sa theyve done a good job of creating an atmosphere where a lot of us who really, really want to do more feel slapped down before we even get started
