Installed Master of Orion 2 again yesterday and spent hours on winning a pre warp huge galaxy 8 players game on the hardest difficulty.

That feeling when you haven’t play Minecraft for months and then you load it up just to play around for a while and then you notice sunlight coming through the curtains.

3D printing came back at me hard. Getting to use the school printer in high school was cool and now that I’m an adult I’ve bought 3 of my own.

I graduated in 2010 and my high school had a 3d printer. They weren’t common in the 2000’s but they were around.

I graduated 2005 and 3d printing wasn’t even a concept at any school in my district.

If it helps, my high school was ahead of the curve on 3D printer adoption. Someone on the staff must have been in-the-know and somehow managed to convince them that the $3,000 purchase was worth it.

I sure am glad that those prices have come way down since then.

I’ve got an older resin printer I used for Warhammer, I’m thinking it’s just a matter of time before I start trying FDM to make useful stuff.

I just don’t see the point. I can’t think of any good reason to have one personally.

I would love to be proven wrong though.

If you have any desire to make things or tinker, they’re fantastic. They’ll save you tons of time and possibly money also. I have a bunch of knickknacks and functional printed parts around my house now.

If that’s not your cup of tea though, you probably don’t have a good reason to buy one. It’s also a hobby and if you don’t plan to use it for more than printing the occasional spare part which you could otherwise just buy at a store, I don’t think it would justify the cost.

Ugh, I still haven’t even hit that. I’m 1400-something in Daily games (my primary time control), but my Rapid and Blitz lag way behind.

I’ve only ever barely hit 1500 in rapid. Never done the daily games.

        But I’m 2400+ with puzzles

I use both and have been gravitating more toward Lichess lately. Once you get used to the UI, it’s really nice.

I don’t like the term “old interests” , but it’s nice to see the ex again. And while I acknowledge that MC has to remain on the dl, I do wish she would move out at some point…
