The fact the polls aren’t showing a Harris blow out is absoltuly depressing me about the state of the world

Kamala shouldn’t have to be at Obama’s level. A bucket of paint should be infinitely more attractive to everyone on the planet compared to a bigoted narcissist like Trump. The fact that it’s 50-50 proves whoever the Dems choose is not the problem.

Seriously, he’s so easily beatable. Why are the Dems so out of touch that they can’t put forward a candidate or a platform that trounces this guy? Say you won’t give tax money to foreign genocide. Should be a landslide victory after that.

I think not running a primary after Biden stepped down was a huge mistake as well. People feel that a candidate is just being forced on them. If there was even a facade of primaries like they usually are that would have been better than this for the party.

It’s so weird how Lemmy has the best political strategists. And theyre not even paid to do it. They do it here for free. Amazing.

If that’s all it takes for a landslide, why hasn’t Trump said that? Could it be that it wouldn’t have the landslide effect you claim?

Nobody voting for trump is holding out on him until he promises to stop sending money to israel is the huge, glaring, obvious, so simple that it’s embarrassing that I have to point it out difference.

You’re saying a large group of voters is NOT voting for Harris, but would if she said these words. Yet if Trump says these words those same voters would NOT vote for him? Why would those voters NOT vote for Trump? This should be an easy answer for you, embarrassingly easy even.

Then why hasn’t Trump said the words? According to @[email protected] its a slam dunk method to get votes that are currently holding out voting?

Why would he say that to a base that doesn’t want to hear it? His base is cool with what’s happening in gaza

Well you better tell that to every liberal who blames the left for not voting for Harris over the Gaza issue if she loses then.

If they want to sit on their hands and not vote for Harris, that is their choice and their right. I disagree with them. If it ushers in a victory for Trump, they will have done themselves (and the rest of us) more harm than any words I could say then.

I just don’t think I’ll ever see eye to eye with someone who doesn’t think applying pressure to politicians to stop promoting genocide is the right thing to do. I just do not understand that lapse in morality and logic at all. I hope I never do.

It should be a landslide victory after saying such, but everything I’ve heard regarding polls on the matter is that doing so wouldn’t actually gain her much if any support, and possibly might lose her some. There’s a very vocal part (especially on lemmy) of the left that would support her more, but the unfortunate matter with Isreal is that a very large portion of the country is genuinely favorable towards that country even when they’re actively destroying a population, dislikes Palestinians enough to believe Isreali propaganda about them being just terrorists, or just doesn’t care about what goes on in the rest of the world and would resent the issue being focused upon over domestic matters.

Harris can’t say that, even if she wants to, because she’s party of the current administration. It’s a big weakness

Excuse me?! Um, Japanese that got sent to internment camps run by the United States (I’m saying it this way because I learned from George Takei interviews it can be easily mislabeled and her takes great criticism to people that say it wrong), were all grouped together as one nationality accused of possibly being on the side of the Japanese military.

Does Trump think the people at the Capital were all rounded up for being his supporters? These things are not the same. It is insulting to Japanese living in the United States to compare them.
