    Honestly, I got nothing. In German, we would say Besteck or Tafelsliber.

      Silverware (Tafelsilber : banquet/table silver) exists.

      Besteck used to mean sheath, bestecken could be translated as to decorate with, stecken is to put into.

      I could see the Swedish being translated as stabbers

      skriva: to write
      beskriva: to describe

      sticka: to stab
      bestick: stab-related noun?
