I always vote not Republican. In part because I’m a staunch republican. No kings for me thank you

I vote for who I think is the better person; who, 99% of the time is not a republican. (still waiting for that 1% to prove the stat)

Happened for me in the 2020 election for local jail warden. The Democrat was a lady that was the Deputy Warden under the previous Warden, who was ousted for the worst death statistics of any jail in the country. The Republican candidate just had some attempted/accidental tax evasion that they paid fines for and paid the taxes retroactively. Since he didn’t literally have blood on his hands, I voted for the Republican guy in that race. That is the first and last time so far since I started voting in 1998.

Ok it is your choice fully, and is in my opinion a good choice, but as a non American I thought of this funny hypothetical question.

So even during the first civil war you were against the Republican party?

As a non American you probably don’t realize what a tired right-wing talking point that is. Next you’ll be telling me how Democrats didn’t support civil rights until the late twentieth century.

I realize you were (probably) just having fun and unaware of this, I share this with you in the spirit of education.
