Speaking with Gad about his new Dark Horse comic, The Writer, the Wolf Like Me actor said MGM would lock him in a Culver prison cell if he shared too many details about his Spaceballs sequel. Still, he did say, “Everybody who’s read it has been blown away. The process of working on this with and alongside Mel Brooks has been one of the highlights of my career.”
When pressed for more details, Gad continued, “It was sort of a fever dream that this all happened. Mel has been so unbelievably supportive, involved, and electrified by this because it’s the one that surprisingly got away. It’s a dream to be able to finally make the reality prophesied by Yogurt in the first movie happen. I can’t say more than that. I can’t tell you anything beyond [the] process at this point, but I can tell you every hour of every day right now is spent making this project closer and closer to reality — and I think we’re nearing the end zone here.”
Rather fund Scavengers Reign
I for one have never liked Josh Gad, never found him witty, never found him funny, whenever I’m watching a production with Josh Gad in it the entire production becomes middling in my estimation. I do not like Josh Gad, and I’m surprised he’s still a thing.
He was good in Avenue 5.
His only two good roles were in Avenue 5 and the episode he did for Party Down.
And by good roles I mean, they both feel like he’s playing an exaggerated version of himself: whiney, self-important, and delusional.
He had a fun episode in New Girl as Bearclaw
Funny though, at least in the only thing of his I’ve seen.
Loved him in Avenue 5 and The Comedians and those are the only 2 things I know him from. The Comedians was a 1 season FX in which Billy Crystal and Josh Gad play themselves being forced to work together on a project. I highly recommend checking out the episode about them getting stoned before going to the Kids Choice Awards.
