This is a strong signal that Harris may over-perform polling.

These people know what they’re doing much better than you do. He hasn’t technically won yet, but statistically he has.

It’s at 27% now, thankfully. It was at 6% when I commented and hadn’t been called

It’s ok, I got the joke. How unfortunate Josh Stein has that name, lol. (Btw he already won, I think).

Thankfully, she’s not even on the radar there.

The democratic candidate for governor is named Josh Stein

The down vote ratio on that comment is a measure of Lemmy’s emotional, knee-jerk response to things they don’t understand.

The comment is slightly ambiguous so let’s chalk it up to that.

The ambiguity is the joke, but I didn’t think it was particularly subtle. Even Jill Stein supporters don’t think Jill Stein is going to win any state.

Gee, I wonder why this person is referencing Jill Stein in a really weird way on this post about the governor’s race. Well, I’m not going to click on a link or inform myself about politics at all to figure out the context!

Downvotes don’t matter in any way, if anything they sort of make the joke better, but man is that an embarrassing vote total for the Lemmyverse.

Or they are quite irritated at smartass comments like that and yours. You’re a clever-mcgee pulling off the oldest play of letters and words, don’t you?
