Trump/Musk have announced a plan similar to Argentina where they cut a bunch of public services and refuce the functions of government:

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/elon-musk-economy-trump-hardship-b2637850.html

…part of the plan is to crash the economy and cause ‘hardship’… And they’re more than likely going to do a massive transfer of wealth in the process. hedge funds use this tactic all the time, get your money ready, collapse a stock, buy it at a lower price, be wealthier when it returns.

They’re going to do that with the whole economy. They want to own the whole pie.

I guess they really got upset that unions got some traction and workers got some hope that they are not completely helpless.

Do they not know that Americans choose their politicians based on egg prices? They will be fucked in the midterms if they go through with this assuming they don’t rig it too hard

Given that there are 20 million votes unaccounted for, and we suspiciously had high voter turnout yet low amounts of people actually voting. Something’s not right.

Please, let’s not be republicans and start conspiracy theories. The 2020 election was totally unique because of Covid. It’s better to compare turnout to a non-Covid year like 2016, which is has similar democratic vote numbers to 2016

The entertainment corporation “Fox news” will tell them that the egg prices are lower than they are, and a median voter will believe it, and they will pay more money, while believing that they aren’t.

Correct. Good thing that my comment was a hyperbolic denunciation of a clear pattern of actual attitudes and behaviors rather than a blame shifting strawman like the one I was replying to.

And you’re thus continuing to be wrong.

Deliberate and obvious hyperbole to emphasize a valid point is NOT a strawman, nor is it equivalent.

Don’t forget all the people of the world who sit back and laugh at the suffering of millions of people just because the leaders they can’t control do bad shit. Getting pleasure out of watching people suffer is wrong.

My brother in Christ, what do you mean by that can’t control? Women, minorities, poors, olds voted for someone who’s going to take away their healthcare, deport them or their friends and families, and wreck the economy.

These people literally had option to deny him that power. I don’t think there’s going to be any such option in near future.

Correct. I mean anyone laughing at another country because it’s going to shit is a bad person. I don’t laugh at the Russian people. I laugh at the government. The average person is kept powerless for a reason.

MAGA party explicitly mentioned denaturalization during the campaigns. That means Americans who were immigrants or were born to immigrants.

How many of those are Trump voters/non-voters, we don’t know but safe to assume there’s plenty of such idiots.

However, there are illegal immigrants in USA. They love Trump and his rhetoric about illegal immigrants, not realizing he’s talking about them.

"I’m an immigrant, and I love Trump,” said Alex, a day laborer who has been undocumented since he came to the U.S. from Nicaragua 28 years ago.

Fernando Pineda, a 52-year-old undocumented immigrant from El Salvador who also works as a mover for U-Haul, said he’s ambivalent about Trump’s win because he feels protected by San Francisco’s status as a sanctuary city, meaning it does not coordinate with ICE to deport undocumented immigrants.

              https://sfstandard.com/2024/11/07/san-francisco-trump-immigration-deportation-fears/

At this point apathy or schadenfreude is the only option left because these people are beyond reach or help.

Bold of you to presume that they will even accept your taxes at all, in order to keep those services solvent. Instead it looks very much rather like they will simply be removed from us, at any price point.
