This little monster chews cables. So, I ran power cords through water hoses.

    Hi Margit!

I spent a good 30 seconds trying to figure out if you had aquarium air pump wall outlets in your place before I read the text of your post. But now I have an idea for a new house feature to sell people with more money than sense… and, I guess, people with a lot of aquariums.

Meanwhile my cat chews the tubes for my nebulizer.

Maybe you need a nice big houseplant to put in the way. Nontoxic to cats, of course. Looks like not a lot of light there, so maybe a Cast Iron Plant.

Another option would be to smear a bit of hot sauce or mentholated petroleum jelly (Vicks VapoRub) on the cords. That might be a better choice, as it should help train against chewing on cords altogether.

They actually make sprays for chewing. They’re usually super bitter but some are spicy hot. The spicy hot ones you have to make sure that you remove their water source because otherwise they’ll learn that they can drink water to remove the heat and then you’ll have a cat that craves mexican food.

Thank you. That raises new questions. I have heard of Power-over-Ethernet but never water over power.

Does it prevent curious pets from biting the wires?
