Maybe it would be a better idea to look for people that didn’t endorse Trump the moment they lost to him to be his competition this time around.

    https://www.politico.com/story/2016/02/chris-christie-endorses-donald-trump-219861

Chris Christie is one of the current human embodiments of the meaning of the phrase “talk is cheap”.

Not like it was hard to see how big a pile a shit Trump was back in 2016 so Christie clearly supported such a person then when he thought it would be good for him politically, what has changed now?

As much as it is opportunism, most of Trump’s power in the Republican party comes from people thinking he has power. The more that stand up to him as he is weaker makes him weaker. So, I wouldn’t be praising Christie, but let’s welcome the progress that his criticism brings.

It does ring hollow, similar to the anyone but Trump Republicans before the first primaries he was in. It’s looking for an alternative until none is found and then settling in Trump. However, it still erodes his strong man imagez which is blatantly untrue.

Bold words from a man who once endorsed trump while he was catching that wave. Trump didn’t do this on his own… he is not smart enough. It was support from hacks like this that helped him glide into power.

“He’s earned every one of them. If you look at it, every one of these is self-inflicted,” Christie said Thursday during the podcast interview."

Wow, I never thought I would see an R say such grounded words before.

You can count on a Republican politician to say the right thing, but only long after it would have been helpful, and only after they no longer want their own name on a ballot.

It takes one to know one!

Christie is another one who would be in jail if it weren’t for him and his crew setting up a couple fall guys!

One he’ll sign up to eat shit for and kiss the ring when Trump wins the nom. Same as the rest of them.

      They have no credibility.

I can’t believe I have to say “I agree with Chris Christie”, but here we are…

Let’s be real about what this is though, Christie is in the primary to sling muck back at Trump on behalf of Desantis, who plans on keeping his hands clean in hopes that he can take Trump down a few notches without alienating Trump’s voters. This is more-or-less a cookie cutter copy of what happened with Christie and Rubio in the last Republican primary, and it worked like a charm, so I can’t say that I even blame them for going back to it this time.

Will it work out against Trump? Will staying out of it actually help DeSantis build support in the party?

I’m not so sure, but I damn well know that that’s what the plan is here.
