Tom Cruise has been awarded the US Navy’s highest civilian honour for “outstanding contributions” to the military with his screen roles.

Not that I would give him the award, but Tom Cruise’s character in Top Gun has probably done more to get people to join the navy than any recruitment office could ever hope for.

So no shade (despite the fact that I don’t like Tom Cruise) but he looks 15 years older here than he did during the filming of Maverick
Apparently he hasn’t cleared his body of Thetans in a while.
Yeah, he looks closer to a man his age.
The magic of Hollywood my friend
I was going to say that while his acting was fine in Top Gun and A Few Good Men and such, he’s also been paid for that, and I feel that an award should really require going above-and-beyond.
But I looked at the recipients of that medal, and it has a long list of political recipients, people like Jared Kushner. I’m not sure that the medal has a lot of integrity to safeguard.
As a common point of confusion, Tom Cruise was surprised to receive a call from the Navy instead of the Air Force.
