Feel free to have a look at
Finally got around to watching Mars Express (2023). I think the trailer makes it seem more action packed than it was, but it still had some action and was certainly entertaining. I’m not fully sure how I feel about it yet but I’m definitely going to rewatch it again in the future. It draws out similar feelings to when I watched Pantheon (2022).
I also recently finished Kite Man: Hell Yeah! (2024) and started Drifting Dragons (2020). I enjoyed Kite Man (spinoff show from Harley Quinn (2019), so if you like that you’ll probably like this too). I’m only a few episodes into Drifting Dragons and while I plan on finishing it, it’s not as up my alley as I had hoped.
Finally got to watch Deadpool and Wolverine. It was awesome, I’m still chuckling about some of the jokes.
Started again with The Boondocks. Haven’t watched anything else, gaming mostly.
The series finale of Lower Decks was a great sendoff. I don’t miss many shows but I will miss this one.
Mostly catching up on Doom Patrol. I had watched the first season back when it was new, and didn’t return to it because it kinda faded from my mind by the time the next season came out.
Heretic, which was better than I expected. La Palma was also decent. Don’t really remember much of this week’s episode of Silo.
I’ve watched what I always watch and nothing else; YouTube videos.
Skibidi toilet again? I keep telling you there are other videos
Creature Commandos has been hitting that sweet spot for me. Admittedly, I love gypsy punk, gratuitous cartoon violence and bizzarely heartbreaking stories.
I’d love to see James Gunn’s personal musical favourites for the year.
I’ve had “Everyone Else Burns” sitting on my hard drive for a year unwatched because I thought it would be edgy atheist nonsense
Fuckin hell I’ve never been so wrong. Quick fire, absurdist, bizarre comedy, along with simply brilliant character studies
Highly, highly recommended
Highly recommend Big Top Burger by Worthikids. Have also been enjoying Infinity Train and Letterkenny lately
I just finished watching two episodes of Silo season 2. I’m really enjoying the TV show.
Fortress (Christopher Lambert, but more importantly Jeffrey Combs <3) - set in an evil corporate prison in the distant future of 2017. A dumb little dystopian science fiction thing with some fun ideas and people who wanted to make a decent movie. Interesting villain, interesting (for the time) female protag. Stuart Gordon rarely disappoints. Several naked penises on new arrival prisoners.
Fortress 2 (Christopher Lambert, no Jeffrey Combs :(, no Stuart Gordon) - set on an evil corporate prison space station because why the fuck not. Dumb and generic and half-hearted and full of nonsense. Just fucking set it on an asteroid and half of the movie’s problems are solved. New prisoners are now apparently allowed undies.
On DVD:
- The Twilight Zone (1959-64) Season 1 and beginning Season 2.
- Kelly’s heroes
- The Road, right after I re-read that amazing novel, I could not resist.
