President-elect Donald Trump has once again suggested he wants to revert the name of North America’s tallest mountain — Alaska’s Denali — to Mount McKinley, wading into a sensitive and decades-old conflict about what the peak should be called.

Not sure why Trump or Ohio should have any say whatsoever in what to name a mountain in Alaska.
I suspect he is just stirring undirected conservative angst up, preparing his next meal perhaps?

Trump always asks himself “what is the most racist thing I can get away with?” And then runs toward that
He says they are taking it away from McKinley and that he was a great presideny. But I severely doubt the bafoon could even name the most memorable thing the guy did. Which was dying horribly from bungled medical care following an assassination attempt.
Idk I think the most memorable thing he did was bring a cow up to his college bell tower as a prank
Cows can’t walk down stairs so they had to butcher it in the tower

Murkowski openly advocated for the Obama administration to rename Mt. McKinely as Denali…this feels like a really good way to piss off one of the most important votes in his party (for absolutely no reason).
When Iwas there in the 90’s the locals called it Denali, not McKinley.
He’s so fragile that slights against the legacy of other (select) presidents shatter his ego.
Just kidding. He’s got a terrifyingly life-threatening, economy-ruining, complex that will kill us all with the shards.
He probably also is trying to figure out how to slap his name on it.

Plenty of historical examples of rulers having previous rulers’ statues recarved with their own images.
McKinley never even went to Alaska, let alone Denali.
