I got a combo box of 4 strips, fries, coleslaw, a slice of toast, dip, and a drink.

The strips were uniformly sized. The fries were crispy, and well cooked. My coleslaw looked gross, but the person I went with had better looking coleslaw. It was odd having toast served with my meal, but I’m not complaining about it. Their dip tasted like a mixture of ketchup, mayonnaise, and a seasoning salt - It was good, but not captivating.

The experience was fine. I think Chick-fil-a is better. It has better sauce, and doesn’t charge if you want extra. Chick-fil-a offers more variety.

Raising Cane’s is always busy. Their drive-thru was busy, and inside was busy. It surprises me that people are so drawn to this chicken strip restaurant. It’s good, but I can’t see myself electing to return there.

Any opinions? Raising Cane’s vs Chick-fil-a? vs other chicken establishments?

Raising canes is peak mid. Its very alright. The quality control needs work, and if you don’t like the sauce you’re fucked cause they have no other options.

It costs .45 cents for a second dip, so I think they set the expectations higher in my head. I need a reason to want to pay for it.

I also felt like the dip’s portion could have been larger, especially if I’m expected to pay for more.

      peak mid is incredibly accurate.

Chick-fil-A may have marginally better food, with a slightly wider selection, but I disagree with their politics.

Cane’s is good for what they offer and I can get it any day of the week.

I’ll have to look more into that. I know Chick-fil-a is closed on Sundays because of Christianity. But Raising Cane’s founder seems like a profits over people guy, just like the rest of the 1%ers. But I’ll look more into it.

Chick-fil-a is anti LGBTQ+. They’ve openly discriminated in the past, and have given large sums of money to “Christian” groups that are at the core anti LGBTQ

I don’t care how much they have walked back on that stance in recent years, hard pass. Given the choice between normal capitalistic greed and actively spreading religious based hate, I’ll take the monopoly man.

The first Canes I ever went to was totally average. It thoroughly disappointed the woman I was with because I was unimpressed. It wasn’t bad by any means but nothing special.

Then about eight months ago I stopped at another Canes and I guess they just made a fresh batch of everything because it was all good. Not mind blowingly orgasmic or anything but a solid fast food meal. I told the aforementioned lady about this Canes and she was excited. Six years later and she could finally get some closure - she just took me to the wrong Canes.

Anyway, the one near my work is okay. An even 7/10 joint.

The restaurant that I went to is always busy! Certainly there are Cane’s enthusiasts out there. Maybe in 5 or 6 years, enough time will have passed that I will feel the need to try it again.

I’ve only been to Raising Cane’s once but I wasn’t remotely impressed. I’m not a big fan of boneless chicken so I guess I’m not their target audience anyway but I’ve had better strips out of the freezer section at the grocery store.

I know someone that strongly prefers bone-in chicken over strips/nuggets. I am sometimes in the mood for one more than the other.

Also, Raising Cane’s had a large sign in their kitchen that said “Take no prisoners” which confused me and made me question what it meant.
