While Catholic U.S. President Joe Biden continues to provide weapons to Israel that have killed over 45,000 Palestinians in Gaza, Pope Francis has called for an investigation to determine if Israel’s military attacks on Gaza constitute genocide and by implication that the Biden administration is a participant in the genocide. It would not be the first time the Pope has identified the role of individual Catholics in genocide. In 2017, Pope Francis asked for forgiveness for Catholic church’s role in Rwanda genocide acknowledging that some Catholic priests and nuns ‘succumbed to hatred and violence’ by taking part in 1994 killings.

You know if there’s one thing I think the modern world could use more of right now it’s religious organizations asserting authority over secular governments. /s

You know, I expected this as soon as the pope mentioned that genocide is bad.

If a secular government is engaged in genocide then I have zero moral qualms if a religious organization uses its social capital to denounce that secular government.

Funny how Francis doesn’t hold the same level of humanitarian concern when it comes to the actions of the russians (not only in Ukraine, but also in multiple African countries, Syria, Georgia).

He was actually caught prasing russian imperialism.

doubt anything will stop the senile old man from doubling down on his faith

last four years have been a Catholic hell where all sperm is sacred and we are back to using coat hangers coupled with genocide, no increasing the minimum wage to a living one or expanding workers’ rights, no healthcare expansion but the opposite, not protecting the environment, increased police funding
