Whenever I think of a Christmas Carol I cannot get “we’re Marley and Marley” from the muppets out of my head. It’s a banger!

Had a Christmas quiz at my work a couple of years ago, and the fact that I was “wrong” for saying there were four ghosts has lived rent free in my head every Christmas since.

Marley, Past, Present, Future - just because hs’s not noted as “the ghost of” doesn’t mean he’s not a ghost!

6 if you count children Ignorance and Want, and if you want a real argument, are the “shadows” Scrooge sees in the past - ghosts? What about everyone in the future?

I suppose I should’ve been more specific in my comment, that it was about how many ghosts visited Scrooge - of which are the four I mentioned. The other ghosts are part of the apparitions presented by the visiting ghosts, rather than visitors themselves

In A Muppet Christmas Carol, Statler And Waldorf play the ghosts of Jacob and Robert Marley.

Marley & Marley is one of the best folklore retcons in history.

Your spoiler just made me think that they’d be perfect as an interpretation of Shran and Soval. Presumably sometime post formation of the Federation.

The only reason I used the spoiler tag is explaining the joke ruins the joke.

The first duty of every Starfleet officer is to the spirit of the season. Whether that’s giving spirit, historical spirit, or personal spirit. It is the guiding principle on which Starfleet is based and if you can’t find it within yourself to stand up and show the spirit of the season, then you don’t deserve to wear that Santa hat.

I saw him in A Christmas Carol in the city (I think on Broadway) years and years ago. I was the only kid on the field trip who was like “omg it’s Captain Picard!”
