This is 100% free and so is shipping through the USPS.

This is the article from the FTC on this (and also some tips to avoid possible scams) and the link inside to begin the order https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2024/10/how-order-free-covid-test-kits-federal-government-and-avoid-scammers

They limit 4 per household and do keep in mind that these tests do expire, but it seems wise for everyone to still have some on hand if someone believes they have symptoms. If nothing else, you’ll have some to share with friends if the expiration is close so they don’t go to waste.

It’s not really “4 per household”. It’s 4 per household PER ROUND. I believe the most recent ordering round started a couple months ago.

Edit: the article is from October, I think that was the most recent window. If you got your free tests from the government before then, you are eligible for 4 more

Nah, I ordered in Oct and site said I’ve reached my limit. You are correct they add new limits every once in. While but they publicize poorly so it’s hard to remember.

I haven’t really been paying attention to COVID related news, is it still killing people and stuff? Like I don’t even get a test when I get sick, but I probably should.

It absolutely does. New strains are a bit less deadly, and enough of the population is vaccinated so it’s not that terrible, but they are more contagious and they still cause lasting damage even if they don’t kill, so it’s very much a problem
