A decent evening news producer would have allowed it.

I just love picturing someone watching TV and seeing this and just having to take their phone out and photograph it. I get it.

Reminds me of a time back in my 20s, getting high with some friends. We’d often put some music on, and then mute the TV and have it play something in the BG (usually a nature documentary or something). This time, I guess the local news had come on, and the closed captions were running.

Anyway, nobody’s really paying much attention to the TV when suddenly my friend bolts upright, points to the screen (like Leo in that Once Upon a Time in Hollywood gif) and yells, “CHECK YOUR BODY FOR DICKS!” and we’re all like wtf??

Sure enough, there it is, captioned on the local news, telling people to check their body for dicks. Needless to say, that shit was fucking hilarious.

it became clear shortly after that it was supposed to say “ticks.” Lol… Definitely something I would have wanted to take a picture of if I was alone and so much more funny because there were others to share the moment with.

This is one of those things, 10 years later, a friend will say randomly in a bar. Everyone will look at them funny, and they’ll just chuckle and smile.

I never understood why parents sometimes give their kid a first name that is almost the same as their last name. Like Dick Dickman

TIL where “Catch-22” comes from. Thanks, you really are a fine architect, importer and/or exporter, and latex manufacturer.

I’ve got to head over to St Paul for something in the next few days and there’s usually a bored pig around, I can ask if it’s real if you want.
