Summary

Donald Trump announced plans to rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America,” claiming the U.S. does most of the work in the region and criticizing Mexico for drug trafficking and migration.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene pledged to draft legislation to implement the name change.

The Gulf, a critical economic and ecological area, provides 40% of U.S. seafood and hosts extensive petroleum infrastructure.

While similar renaming proposals have occurred in the past, they were largely satirical or symbolic, unlike Trump’s serious push for the change.

And the whole world has to change their maps because one country decided on a name change for something they don’t own? I’m sure that’ll go over well.

No he won’t, because if he does, we just won’t use it, and if anybody uses it, we’ll ask them what they mean.

Senile old man says shit. MTG, literally the most powerless cunt in Congress, says she’ll write up the legislation. (She’s so goddamned stupid, she’s not allowed on a single committee, not even by her fellow Republicans.)

    Liberals: AHHHH!!!

I’ll still vote D, but fuck me, I’ve totally given up on liberals.

Yeah, there was a time she was seen as too extreme. Standards have, somehow, kept falling, and she’s back within the normal GOP overton window.
