Could this explain the horrible d-pad in the NGC?

I think “last moment” is a bit of a stretch. It may have been weeks before the Space World reveal, but the Space World event was a full year before the console released.

But they are kind of committed once it’s been announced/show to the public. Of course they could change it, but it’s not as simple after the public has seen it.

But without it how would I have tainted my opponents after I cheese them off the edge in smash bros?

And good that they changed it at the last moment. Sure the D-PAD is super stiff but can you imagine games like Metroid Prime without it?

Of course it is very important to have the start button in an easy to reach location.

I would say that initially they located it there to get some symmetry because aesthetic reasons.

Bruh is this real there’s no way the b button would be there

But then again this is the same company that brought us the amazing N64 controller

I’d be very surprised if this is true. Adding a D pad and extra button at the last minute and redesigning the controller entirely feels a bit of a stretch. And it looks a bit strange having a dedicated “arm” just for a single button, especially if it’s the start button (rather than a hypothetical “D” button.

Edit: I didn’t realize there was an actual real photo of one linked as the post, rather than the blurry one in the description thingie. I don’t know what to think.
